The month-wise data for 2024 shows a steady increase in the wholesale prices of agricultural commodities in Kerala up to August. The overall index for all crops rose from 151 in January to 176.22 in August. Fruits and vegetables saw a sharp rise, especially from June onwards, peaking at 180.92 in August. Condiments and spices and beverages also recorded high prices, with beverages reaching over 226 in August after a steep climb from March. Commercial crops showed a consistent increase as well, touching 188.85 in August. While cereals remained relatively stable, pulses showed a mild upward trend with some fluctuations. The data reflects a clear and consistent rise in agricultural prices through the year, especially in the second half.
