Subsector wise details of new MSME


The data shows a clear rise in activity across most subsectors in 2022–23 compared to previous years. The Agro and Food-based sector and Service Activities grew sharply, reaching 23,474 and 26,159, while they were below 5,000 earlier. Textiles and Garments also saw a big jump to 14,702, after staying under 2,000 in earlier years. Information Technology and Printing & Allied sectors rose to 6,091 and 3,795 respectively. Trade activity appeared for the first time in 2022–23 with a large number of 48,945, possibly due to a new category or a boost in trade-related businesses. On the other hand, Cement Products dropped to zero. Overall, 2022–23 shows strong growth in business activity, possibly due to a post-COVID recovery or supportive government policies.
