
The average prices of livestock products and feeds in Kerala rose steadily from 2017-18 to 2023-24. Mutton showed the highest increase (₹524.63 to ₹719.6/kg), while broiler and desi chicken rose to ₹203.67 and ₹398/kg, respectively. Egg prices also went up, with white fowl eggs reaching ₹580 per 100 and duck eggs ₹1,180. Cow and buffalo milk rose to ₹53.5 and ₹80.41 per litre. Feed prices increased notably, especially straw (₹14.62 to ₹20.6/kg) and grass (₹3.92 to ₹9.61/kg). Overall, livestock and feed costs showed a consistent upward trend across the years.
