The rate increased slightly from 0.18 in 2016–17 to a peak of 0.25 during 2018–20, after which it declined steadily.
A notable drop occurred in 2020–21, with the PR halving to 0.12, possibly due to improved detection and treatment measures.
From 2021–22 to 2023–24, the rate stabilized around 0.13–0.15, showing sustained control efforts.
In 2024–25, the PR remained low at 0.12, reaffirming Kerala’s effective leprosy elimination strategies.
