Production and Sale of Fodder Seeds by KLD Board (2011-2023)

Observations:

  1. Annual Trends:
    • The production and supply of fodder seeds have varied significantly across years, with the highest production recorded in 2016-17 (108.198 MT) and the lowest in 2012-13 (17.16 MT).
    • Similarly, the highest supply was in 2016-17 (84.318 MT), and the lowest was in 2012-13 (17.22 MT).
  2. Mismatch Between Production and Supply:
    • In certain years, the supply was lower than the production (e.g., 2013-14, 2014-15, 2021-22), suggesting possible leftover stock, spoilage, or unutilized capacity.
    • In some years, the supply exceeded production (e.g., 2015-16, 2018-19), which might indicate reliance on stock from previous years to meet demand.
  3. Consistency in Specific Years:
    • In 2019-20 and 2020-21, the production exactly matched the supply (25.36 MT and 62 MT, respectively), indicating closely aligned production and distribution.
  4. Recent Years:
    • In 2021-22 and 2022-23, production was higher than supply. For example, in 2021-22, production was 89.62 MT, while supply was only 59.11 MT; in 2022-23, production was 74.83 MT, while supply was 66.52 MT.
  5. High Efficiency Year:
    • The year 2016-17 stands out as both production (108.198 MT) and supply (84.318 MT) reached their highest levels, demonstrating a peak in operational output.

Conclusions:

  1. There is a noticeable fluctuation in the production and supply of seeds over the years, indicating varying performance and external influences on operations.
  2. The supply often does not align perfectly with production, either due to surplus production or the utilization of stocks from previous years.
  3. The year 2016-17 was the most productive and efficient year in terms of both production and supply.
  4. Recent years (2021-22 and 2022-23) show high production but relatively lower supply, suggesting potential challenges in matching demand with production.
