Observations on Production, Sales, Employment, and Wages Paid by Departmental and Aided Khadi & Village Industries Units (2022-23 & 2023-24):

  • The total value of production increased from 18,938.25 lakh in 2022-23 to 19,701 lakh in 2023-24, while total sales slightly decreased from 21,609.3 lakh to 21,458.97 lakh.

  • Employment remained largely stable, with 55,877 persons in 2022-23 and 55,759 in 2023-24, indicating minimal changes in workforce.

  • Wages paid increased from 12,136.6 lakh in 2022-23 to 12,441.1 lakh in 2023-24, showing an improvement in worker remuneration.

  • Among village industries, the village pottery industry and Khadi & Polyvastra recorded the highest production and sales values.

  • Certain sectors, such as Gurkhandasari, showed a decline in production, sales, and employment, highlighting areas of concern.
