Sex ratio at birth Trends kerala


From 2005–07 to 2018–20, Kerala’s sex ratio at birth has shown a consistent improvement. During this period, the overall ratio increased from 958 to 974. In rural areas, the ratio rose from 957 to 973, while in urban areas, it increased from 962 to 975. Although there was a slight dip during 2015–17 (overall 948, urban 931), the trend steadily improved in subsequent years. This indicates that the state's interventions to promote gender equality have been effective.
