Observations on Export of Coir and Coir Products by Coir PSUs/Coirfed (Rs in Lakh):

  • Kerala State Coir Corporation contributed the major share of exports in all years, with a peak value of 1717 lakh in 2021-22.

  • Foam Mattings (India) Ltd. contributed minimally, only in 2021-22 with 14.66 lakh value.

  • Coirfed’s export contribution has been inconsistent and very low, reaching only 53 lakh in 2020-21.

  • Total export value peaked in 2021-22 at 1731.66 lakh and sharply declined to 1005.32 lakh in 2023-24.

  • The quantity exported by Kerala State Coir Corporation fluctuated, with a significant drop to 208573 Sq.M in 2023-24.
