Gender and District-wise Distribution of Total Child Deaths Reported in Kerala


Malappuram district reported the highest number of child deaths (511), with 299 male and 212 female deaths. It is followed by Kozhikode (230), Thiruvananthapuram (213), and Palakkad (191). Wayanad and Pathanamthitta reported the lowest numbers with 85 and 53 child deaths respectively. In most districts, male child deaths exceeded female deaths, reflecting a consistent gender gap. This pattern highlights the need for enhanced healthcare interventions, especially in districts with higher mortality rates.
