
Observations on District-wise Achievement of Special Employment Generation Programme (SEGP) in 2023–24:
A total of 843 units were established across Kerala under SEGP, generating 1,368 employment opportunities.
Kannur district recorded the highest performance, with 275 units, ₹803.65 lakh total project cost, and 341 jobs created.
Kasaragod and Wayanad followed, with 163 and 84 units respectively, showing strong implementation in northern districts.
Districts like Pathanamthitta and Thiruvananthapuram had comparatively low project activity, each creating fewer than 15 jobs.
Overall, the scheme disbursed ₹226.14 lakh in subsidies statewide, supporting micro-enterprise development and rural employment.
