District wise achievement of Special Employment Generation Programme (2023-24)


Observations on District-wise Achievement of Special Employment Generation Programme (SEGP) in 2023–24:

  • A total of 843 units were established across Kerala under SEGP, generating 1,368 employment opportunities.

  • Kannur district recorded the highest performance, with 275 units, ₹803.65 lakh total project cost, and 341 jobs created.

  • Kasaragod and Wayanad followed, with 163 and 84 units respectively, showing strong implementation in northern districts.

  • Districts like Pathanamthitta and Thiruvananthapuram had comparatively low project activity, each creating fewer than 15 jobs.

  • Overall, the scheme disbursed ₹226.14 lakh in subsidies statewide, supporting micro-enterprise development and rural employment.
