
Kerala women have lower anaemia rates (36.3% of all women; 31.4% of pregnant women) and fewer underweight cases (10.1%) compared to the national average (57% anaemic, 18.7% underweight), showing better nutrition and health.However, overweight (38.1%), high blood sugar (8.3%), and hypertension (15.5% ) are higher than national levels, showing rising lifestyle-related health risks. Overall, Kerala has made progress in traditional health indicators but faces new challenges from lifestyle diseases.
