
Observations on Outstanding Advances to Various Sectors by Commercial Banks in Kerala (Rs. Crore):
Total advances by commercial banks in Kerala have shown a steady increase from ₹1,75,087 crore in 2013 to ₹5,77,092 crore in 2024, indicating consistent credit growth over the decade.
Priority sector advances rose sharply from ₹99,317 crore in 2013 to ₹2,57,427 crore in 2024, reflecting a strong policy focus on inclusive lending.
Within the priority sector, agricultural advances more than doubled—from ₹45,055 crore in 2013 to ₹1,31,379 crore in 2024—highlighting increased support to the farm sector.
MSME advances also recorded a significant rise, from ₹23,563 crore in 2013 to ₹80,210 crore in 2024, showing the sector’s expanding credit absorption.
Non-priority sector advances grew from ₹75,770 crore in 2013 to ₹3,19,665 crore in 2024, maintaining a dominant share in total advances but showing proportionate growth similar to the priority sector.
