Contribution of Fisheries sector to Gross State Value Added (Base Year 2011-12)
The fisheries sector’s contribution to Kerala’s GSVA shows a modest but steady role, with output rising from ₹3,998.89 crore in 2019-20 to ₹5,057.41 crore in 2023-24. Its share in GSVA fluctuated slightly, peaking at 0.99% in 2021-22 before dipping to 0.89% in 2023-24. Within the agriculture and allied sector, fisheries contributed between 9% and 11%, indicating its consistent importance despite year-to-year variations.
