Observations on District-wise Achievement under PMEGP in 2023-24:

  • A total of 410 units were established across Kerala, with a total margin money release of Rs 1,336.31 lakh and employment generation for 2,154 persons.

  • Ernakulam recorded the highest number of units (67) and the largest employment generation (478), reflecting strong entrepreneurial activity.

  • Idukki and Kottayam also showed significant investment per unit, with over Rs 112 lakh margin money released in each district.

  • Smaller districts like Pathanamthitta (5 units) and Wayanad (9 units) had the lowest participation and employment generation.

  • Overall, the program contributed substantially to employment generation and support for micro-enterprises across the state.
