In 2023-24, Kerala’s 112 private ITIs had a total seat strength of 2,688, but only 550 students enrolled, showing low seat utilization. Boys (395) outnumbered girls (155), with limited SC (146) and ST (19) representation. A total of 1,881 students passed out in 2024, mainly from earlier batches. Admissions were highest in Kollam, Thiruvananthapuram, Malappuram, and Kozhikode, while Idukki, Wayanad, and Kasaragod saw very low intake. Overall, the data reflects underutilization and regional imbalance in private ITI enrolments.
