
State-wise Production of Raw Cashewnut in India (2019–20 to 2023–24)
• The total raw cashewnut production in India increased gradually from 702.87 thousand MT in 2019–20 to 794.9 thousand MT in 2023–24, showing consistent growth over five years.
• Maharashtra remained the leading producer throughout the period, contributing nearly one-fourth of the total national output (around 25%), followed by Andhra Pradesh and Odisha.
• Kerala’s production showed moderate improvement from 69.62 to 76.38 thousand MT, maintaining a steady share of around 9.5–9.6% of total production.
• Tamil Nadu and Karnataka also contributed significantly, with steady area and production growth, indicating stable cashew cultivation practices.
• Smaller states like Goa, Jharkhand, and West Bengal maintained lower production levels, each contributing less than 4% of total output.
