The data shows that cashew farming in Kerala has grown steadily, especially after 2017–18. The area of cultivation increased from 54.05 thousand hectares in 2011–12 to 110.26 thousand hectares in 2023–24. Production also rose from 36.74 thousand metric tonnes to 76.38 thousand metric tonnes during this time. Kerala’s productivity peaked at 950 kg/ha in 2017–18 and, though it dropped slightly later, it stayed above the national average in most years. Meanwhile, India’s overall productivity fell from 749 kg/ha to 692 kg/ha. This shows that Kerala has become more efficient in cashew farming in recent years.
