The data on crimes against women in Kerala from 2016 to 2024 (up to September) shows a fluctuating trend. While cases of rape and molestation have generally increased over the years, incidents like kidnapping, dowry deaths, and cruelty by relatives show variable patterns, with cruelty and molestation peaking notably in 2021 and 2022. Overall, the total cognizable crimes against women rose from 15,114 in 2016 to a peak of 18,980 in 2023 before dropping to 14,053 in 2024 (up to September).
