District-wise population covered by Water Supply Schemes (As on 31-08-2024)


As of 31-08-2024, Kerala’s water supply schemes cover 68.33% of the total population, with 81.13% of urban residents and 64.54% of rural residents having access. Districts such as Ernakulam (91.81%) and Alappuzha (88.13%) show high overall coverage, while Kasaragod (39.54%) and Malappuram (50.28%) remain significantly underserved. In total, 923 schemes are operational across the state
